2 Day Portrait Painting Workshop
Saturday Sunday February 22 & 23, 2014
A two-day oil painting head study/color sketch/ portrait workshop based on the direct painting method pioneered and popularized by Frans Hals in the 17th century and subsequently adopted to good effect by 19th century Masters Carolus-Duran, John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn and Joachin Sorolla, among others. Virgil will teach and demonstrate the method that’s best suited for achieving a quick result in limited time with the subject. Participants will paint the head of a live model both days.
