Bright Light Fine Art Comes to BACAA in San Carlos California
Enjoy the cool California summer and learn to draw and paint with Three Masters in July of 2016
Bright Light Fine Art will hold its next workshop in the San Francisco Bay Area city of San Carlos next summer at one of this country’s famed ateliers—the Bay Area Classical Artists Atelier (BACAA). Cool off from the summer heat while honing your drawing skills in a three-day workshop with David A Leffel, Sherrie McGraw and Jacqueline Kamin. Continue with these masters for a five-day painting workshop where still life, florals, portrait and figure painting will be explored.

“Self-Portrait” by DavidDrawing is the time-honored foundation for every serious artist. In this class we will work on quick gesture drawings as well as longer poses, helping students to sharpen their observation by studying the principles that all good draftsmen know. We will help each student appreciate how playful and rewarding good drawing can be in the tradition of the old masters.

Painting/ July 25 - 29![]()
We will continue with a five-day painting workshop where we will teach realist painting in the tradition of Rembrandt. Using dramatic lighting, students will learn how the language of painting works—and how simple it really can be—while experiencing the magic of north light in this ideal painting environment where BACAA boasts studios with 25’ high ceilings.

“Maria in Gold” by SherrieBLFA workshops welcome students at all levels of experience, from beginning to advanced, as we tailor our teaching to each inpidual. All drawing and painting demonstrations will be done after class hours from 5:30 to 7:30pm in order to maximize painting and critique time; we design our workshops to help each artist achieve the next level in their work in an intensive focus on the basic principles necessary to becoming an artist.
