This is a debut for Tony at BACAA we are very proud to host his workhsop.
Chasing Zorn: Painting the head and figure in alla prima
We’ll start this workshop at the Legion of Honor to view the Anders Zorn exhibition as a group. Tony will talk about the different paintings and the techniques Zorn used to accomplish his incredible edges and beautiful color harmonies through his limited palette.
The following two days will start with instructor painting demonstration followed by students working from the live model. This workshop’s emphasis will be on various techniques of alla prima painting used to create a solid foundation of the human head and figure and how to create a likeness of the person sitting for you. Techniques and materials of the instructor will be explained before demonstration.
Students will have a chance to paint from the model with instructor critiques throughout the session.
