Museum Visits:
On Tuesdays and Thursdays students will meet in the center of Florence at 10:00 am to work from special museum sites in central Florence. Guided by Master Artist Jon deMartin, students will hear lectures and sketch from sculpture and paintings at the great museums and churches of Florence.

Workshop Description:
In the tradition of the Italian Renaissance we'll emphasize drawing as the root of classical art. We will sketch from sculpture and paintings on a few mornings at the great museums and churches of Florence. Ten afternoon sessions (Monday through Friday) the student will have the opportunity to develop a long pose figure painting in the classical tradition from start to finish. We'll review the color wheel and how it relates to the classical figure palette.
Our goal is to draw a well-proportioned and constructed figure that shows a secure understanding of the models surface and its relation to light & shade. Lectures and demonstrations will be given to lead the students through each step, with a clear and logical process of drawing and painting.
The Studio Location:
Our studio will be located at Via Aretina 293, in a quiet Italian neighborhood, with shopping and amenities near by.
Students’ tuition will include instruction, studio model fees, studio access, museum entry, a final dinner.
Additionally, some art supplies will be provided
Materials list will be provided upon registration
Cost: $1975 Early registration before Nov 30, 2019
Cost : $2150 Regular registration after Nov 30, 2019
